Czech Republic (September 20 -26, 2009)
The 4th IMRB conference was held in Ostrava with a cultural field trip Prague. 30 papers were presented to the 144 participants from 21 nations attended. Conference attendees were exposed to underground coal mine visits and comprehensive mines rescue equipment demonstrations. This was the first conference where participants were formally exposed a mines rescue organisation that provided underwater, underground and aerial services to the private and public sectors.
IMRB members adopted the IMRB logo and the Czech hosts prepared a unique flag that will be passed on to each future nation hosting the IMRB conference.
