Background

 

The International Mines Rescue Body (IMRB) is the largest association of mines rescue experts in the world.  Mines rescue leaders from the leading mining jurisdictions meet regularly to share information and strategize how best to make improvements in emergency preparedness and response capability. 

The original conference where the IMRB was conceptualised was held in Poland  and now the biennial conference is hosted by one of our member nations.  Conferences have been held in South Africa, Australia, USA, Czech Republic, China, Canada, Germany, Russia and Colombia.  Upcoming conference will be held in Brisbane, Australia in 2021, followed by South Africa  in 2023.
