Canada (October 5-13, 2013)

The 6^th IMRB conference was held in Niagara Falls, Ontario and included mine field trip and cultural exchange to Sudbury Ontario.  A total of 38 papers were presented to the 220 participants from 21 nations.  The Theme of this conference was “Sharing Vision/Sharing Knowledge” and it exposed participants to challenges of effective mine rescue in massive and relatively sparsely populated nation.  Papers included mine rescue in open cast mines and unique problem such as effect of wild fires on mining operations.

Underground mine tours included visits to both conventional and modern deep metal mines and included visit to a the Neutrino Laboratory and even an underground farm.
