Poland (May 28 -29, 2001)
The foundation of the International Mines Rescue Body was established in Bytom Poland where 16 participants from 9 nations established the IMRB Agreement/Regulations of the IMRB and agreed to the principles of sharing mines rescue related information at a biennial conference.
Furthermore they agreed to establish a global network of mines rescue experts who would share information freely and help improve mines rescue response capability universally. Although not acknowledged as the 1st IMRB meeting, the Poles did conceptualize the need for sharing information at this meeting and they are credited as the founding nation of the IMRB.
